Free for every school

Know where your school stands on AI, and what to do next

The audit is built on the UNESCO AI Competency Framework for Teachers, the framework Kompass uses in its leadership training. Read every part of it here, then see where your school stands and what to do next.

The audit is free. It is a planning tool for your school, not an inspection or an accreditation. Start with the leadership check and get your results at once; the staff pulse, document check and written audit open over the coming weeks.

What you get

What your school receives

  • A written audit

Written for your school, with a PDF and a PowerPoint deck for governors.

  • Your staff's view

A five-minute anonymous staff pulse, opened by QR code on a phone.

  • Your policies checked

Your AI, data protection and safeguarding documents read against the framework.

  • A plan with fixes attached

Every gap links to a free fix: guidance, templates, guides and the free course.

How it works

Five steps, in order

  1. Read the framework

Every indicator and every level is open on this site.

  4. Check your documents

Share your policies to see what they cover and what to add.

  5. Written audit

Built on the framework you know

The five aspects of the UNESCO framework

Each aspect covers what leadership puts in place and what staff do. Open one to read its indicators and levels.

  • Human-centred mindset

People stay in charge of AI. The school has a shared vision, a named lead, fair access for every pupil and listens to pupils and parents.

  • Ethics of AI

AI is used safely and lawfully. Policy, data protection, safeguarding and academic integrity all cover AI, and governors keep watch.

  • AI foundations and applications

The school knows which AI tools it uses, approves new ones through one route and gives staff and pupils reliable access.

  • AI pedagogy

AI has a planned place in teaching, learning and assessment, and pupils learn to use it safely, critically and ethically.

  • AI for professional development

Every member of staff is trained, training continues by role, pilots are evaluated and staff learn from each other.
